I like people with the integrity to adhere to their values consistently and well past the point of pain, much more than I care what it is in particular they stand for. I see people of integrity arguing disrespectfully over left/right or Christian/atheist, and I wish they’d offer friendlier conversations across the aisle and be more admonishing to those of us who loudly wave the flags of our values first, and only afterward realize we can’t live up to them.
