Our comments on what the world is and what life means only make sense in proportion to what we’ve experienced and to what degree. The kid who comes through Hell on the streets describes the world as he experiences it and draws conclusions accordingly. The summary wisdom of the pampered kid who lives in fluff often just seems like overreaching, no matter how they describe those things. To be fair though, fluff is its own perspective.
