Stories are my form of journaling – which is not to say they’re 1:1 representations of my feelings or that they’re “about” me. They’re all true in that they are a kind of hyper-reality, but only to the degree that they achieve what all stories strive for – to be true without being non-fiction. Good stories are a non-didactic form of truth.
