The confidence with which an artist expresses where it comes from or how it works comes only from having his fingers in the clay or in the paint, so to speak. You will always learn, endlessly, but no one can any longer tell you where to find the most basic thing that comes even before the material – your soul. You have found it. The soul knows the future and the universe and itself when it’s making art.
