God is a word that means “unknowable”. If God existed, we couldn’t know that or know Him, because that would reduce Him to a subordinate precept of human perception, contained with perhaps a little difficulty in the human mind. The only way he could prove being wholly other is to become what we are, which is of course a particular historical assertion.
