Sarkozy Persecution of Gypsies is the Usual Cultural Genocide

The new Sarkozy policy of bringing down Hell on the Roma gypsies in France isn’t really new. It’s the same right wing assault on dissidence – people who just *are* different – that the Romani have always endured worldwide. If you’ve read The Family by Jeff Sharlet, you’ll also recognize the assault on the poor, and what’s happening behind the scenes. It’s pretty ghastly. This is Asher just here to do what we do best, be the asshole who calls a thing what it is, instead of accepting the pretense that people of every political stripe prefer were real. And don’t think the uprising, which they knew would happen, indeed incited by their policies, was anything other than a staged show fomented by the oppressors. This way, you get to dismiss the news as a law and order issue, while the Sarkozy executive and it’s global backers preaches how we won’t tolerate uprisings. Order is a religion with these folks, and it means, to them, demolishing any organization of the poor.
